The below samples are finished with an ebony core off-white matte and a gloss wooden black frame with a gold inner border
This photograph was taken in the weighing room at the Australian Jockey Club's Winter Carnival, Randwick. (McGrowdie could weigh in at 45 kg). He had just won the Balmoral Stakes on Passbook.
“Billy Cook” major wins included “two Melbourne Cups (Skipton and Rainbird) and a Caulfield Cup (Amounis).” He rode 2,300 winners before retiring in 1959 and passed on his great skill to his son Peter, who emulated his father by also riding two Melbourne Cup winners.
