My dad was always a great fan of horse racing having clients such as “The AJC” & “The STC” as well as personally knowing many trainers, jockeys & bookmakers in the industry. This reflects to the many exciting & captivating composeres that he photographed within the industry.

Of most of the subjects in the gallery below I have more on file, the displayed examples are what I consider the best. Any inquiries: mc.mcquillan@bigpond.com

MY FAVORITES

The below samples are finished with an ebony core off-white matte and a gloss wooden black frame with a gold inner border

A stand out shot. “Bernborough” parades before his adoring public before winning the 1946 “Newmarket Handicap at Flemmington.” The “Toowoomba Tornado” was ridden by “Athol Mulley” and carried 63 kg. A full & comprehensive layout of “Bernborough” & this race can be seen in the “Classics” catagorie.

“Octagonal” won the two richest weight-for-age races on the Australian calendar, the “1995 W S Cox Plate @ Moonie Valley” over 2000m and the “1996 Mercedes Classic @ Rosehill” over 2400m(above) with earnings of just short of Au$4 million. “Octagonal” is on the outside in his crise colours. Everyone except his jockey, Shane Dye, had thought he had run 2nd.
